Recent Lily funnies.

Lily has been saying the funniest things lately. Here are some recent ones.

Lily: I don't do mud.
Me: What?
Lily: That means I don't walk in mud.

Lily (to her dad): Really? Really, dad?
Hubby: What baby?
Lily: I thought you quit smoking.
Hubby: I did.
Lily pointing her hands: Then how do you explain all this? (pointing to some ciggarette butts)

Realization

Tonight while sitting on the couch staring at the once again messy living room it hit me that I haven't had a truly clean house in four years. My house has not been every room spotless clean since I had Lily. I remember back in my pre child days I would wake up on Saturday mornings get my house really clean in just a couple of hours and then lounge around the rest of the weekend reading, watching tv or whatever. HaHa, needless to say that hasn't happened in a while.

And, you know what, I am perfectly ok with that. I love my babies. I thank God everyday for giving them to me. I know I'll have a clean house again someday.

Lily (aka:Bug) just told her four month old brother Colton (aka:baby boy) that he was going to have to decide if he was going to be a boy or a man. HaHaHa! She then followed it up with she made the decision that she was a girl.

I love love love seeing those two interact. She can get him laughing like no one else can. I was really worried about the four year age gap but so far it hasn't been a problem. It has actually been a blessing because Lily can somewhat fend for herself and she loves be a little mother hen to Colton.

Today was one of those days that I love and am thankful for the most. It was a day spent with both of my families, my church family and my family for my dad's birthday.

I am so thankful to have finally have found a church to call home. Not only do I love it but Bug loves it as well and that is so important to me. Baby boy doesn't know that he loves it yet but the church sure does love him. All the ladies fight over him as soon as we walk in the door. Big Daddy goes with us sometimes. I am hopeful that one day he will want to start attending regularly with us.

After church we headed to my parent's house where my mom had a yummy meal (lasagna, salad, garlic bread and peanut butter cake) waiting on us. I ate until I was full as a tick, it was so good! After we ate we all took turns loving on the babies. My brother, sister in law and my sweet 6 week old niece was there also.

The kids are spending the night with nana and pop so now Big Daddy and I are enjoying the quite house. I'm about to go curl up in bed and watch a movie that doesn't involve and cartoon characters.

I really must get back into blogging regularly because I have come to realize lately that my memory is not so great. Bug is doing and saying so many cute things that I don't want to forget. And, now I have a new kiddo that will be doing cute things that I want to document and remember.

I think my problem is that I always think I have to write some super impressive post for the readers but I have to remember that this is my blog and I can write what ever I want. So I think from now on this will be more of a "Dear Diary" type blog. I really just want to remember the everyday mundane things that we do.

So today me, my mom, Bug and baby boy went shopping and to a baby palooza. It was fun and I love spending time with my mom. She is my best friend. We got Bug's school shoes and an outfit for our family beach pictures we will be having made in a few weeks. Other than that it was lazy. It is way to hot to do anything else. You know it's hot when even your four year old is saying "I'm ready for winter.".

One of the old timers could have told me this secret earlier.

Today was BigDaddy's day off and his "honey do list" has been growing and growing. I haven't really nagged him about it, but I decided that today was the day and I wanted to get somethings accomplished around here. But, I knew if we woke straight up and I asked him about it he would just grumble and that would be the end of it. Last night I decided that I would get up and make a huge breakfast before I woke him up as a "butter him up" offering. Well, it worked like a charm! We all got our bellys full and I mentioned the list and he was like "Yeah, that is a great idea, lets knock that out."

I feel like women that have been married for a long time are probably reading this saying to themselves "Well, duh honey, every woman knows that." .

She makes me laugh.

The following conversation took place between Bug and I this morning.

Me: Bug, what do you want for breakfast?
Bug: I want those little square things, that have salt on them.
Me: I have no idea what you are talking about. What color are they?
Bug: You know those little square things, that are light brown and come in a white box. We bought them at Target.
Me: Crackers? You want crackers?
Bug: No, I don't want crackers. You are making me very mad. If you don't figure out what I am talking about I am going to be so mad.
Me: (going through everything in the cabinets and fridge)
Bug: Come on we will watch tv and they will come on there.

At this point I think my kid has lost it and proceed to try and call BigDaddy. After sitting there about 20 minutes a Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercial comes on.

Bug: That! That! That is what I am talking about momma. That is what I want.

I was laughing so hard at this point. Not only at our exchange but at the fact that she knew that a commercial would come on.

My baby is getting big.

We crossed one of those big milestones with Bug that makes a momma cry last night. She had her first sleepover with a friend. This is also the first time that she has spent the night with anyone other than Pop and Nana and my brother and sister in law.

I am not going to lie, I was a nervous wreck all day yesterday just thinking about it. She on the other hand was ready to go as soon as she woke up. Normally when she is going to stay at Nana and Pop's she tells me "Momma, I am going to miss you while I am gone.". So yesterday I asked her "Are you going to miss me while you are at Tori's?" and he response was "Nope, because I am going to be having too much fun playing.". LOL

I thought for sure that we would be getting a call about bed time saying that she wanted to come home, but we didn't. I am a little sad but a whole lot proud at the same time.

Now I am off to go take that nasty gestational diabetes sugar test. Yuck!

Ready to face 2011 head on.

Wow, I can't believe that it is already 2011. I am excited about a new year and new possibilities. I am excited to meet the new addition to our family. For this blog post I just want to lay out my New Year's resolutions.

  • Family dinner at the table. No more eating in the living room in front of the tv.
  • Save a down payment and buy a house.
  • Eat more healthy as a family. (Less processed stuff, more organic.)
  • I want to volunteer and give back more.
  • Find and get Bug into a really good preschool.
  • Remember to take my reusable bags to the store.
  • Blog at least 3 times a week.

Ok, that is all that I can think of for now. I am sure that I will be back to add more. I want 2011 to be the year that I get things done. I am excited to see what God has in store for our family.

Not sure where to start.

I am not even sure where to start with this post. First I guess I can't believe that it is December 9th. Where the heck did this year go? It has went by so fast and I can't believe that in 2 months my baby will be 4. 4?!? Umm, how did that happen? I just had her yesterday. I can't believe that in just 4 short months that I will be a mom to two.

I really want to be a good blogger. I want to sit down everyday and recapture what happened that day and I really have no good excuse for why I don't. I just don't for some reason. Being a better blogger will definitely be on my list of New Year's resolutions. Bug has been so funny lately and I find my self saying "I really need to get out the video camera." or "I really should write that down somewhere." but I don't. And then two days later I have forgot what it was.

We found out that baby to be is a boy!! Big Daddy and I are over the moon excited about it. Bug on the other, umm, not so much. When the ultrasound tech announced that it was a boy she started crying and loudly proclaimed "I don't want a brother, I want a sister.". She got down in the floor was quite for a few minutes and then looked at Big Daddy with her little finger pointing and said "This is all your fault.". LOL

I haven't started buying anything and won't until it is almost time for him to get here. I am just weird like that. I almost feel like I am going to jinx it. This of course drives my mom insane. She wanted to go out and buy everything as soon as we announced we were pregnant. She did the same thing with Bug.

In other very exciting news I am getting a niece or nephew. My brother and sister in law are pregnant! They are due in June. I am over the moon happy for them. I am also excited that my baby will have a cousin just two months younger. I hope that they will become the best of friends.

Blah

You definitely do not want to come to our house right now, we all 3 have the freaking swine flu! Ugh!

Tuesday, Bug and I woke up with what I thought was just a cold by today mine had gotten some what worse and I thought it had turned into a sinus infection. So I decided to go to the Dr. and take Bug with me just to be on the safe side, I couldn't believe it when the Dr. came in in and said that we both had tested positive for the swine flu. We came home and told BigDaddy the verdict and decided that he should go and get checked and yep, he was positive too.

The best news...I can't take anything for it and just have to suffer through. Oh the joys of pregnancy!

You would never know that Bug has the flu because it hasn't slowed her down a bit. I just want to lay in the bed and she is wide open.

Big News

I totally have to get back into blogging everyday, because big things are happening in my family right now and I don't want to forget anything. Now for my big news...I am having another baby!!

We are super excited and Bug is really happy that she is going to be a big sister. Although she frequently tells my belly these days that she is mad at you baby brother (she has decided that it is a boy) for making mommy sick. LOL

I am 10 weeks right now and I am due April 9th.

The Beach

We just got back from Gulf Shores, yeah, the one that the media is making look like a big oil slick andit was beautiful. I honestly have no idea where the news is shooting what they are showing. We didn't see any oil, it smells like the beach, and the locals are bending over backwards for the tourists. The news channels are hurting the beaches so bad.

My family had a great time! I would leave and go back right now if I could.

Ahh

My baby is getting so big and it makes me so sad. She has informed me that she has to start going to school or me and daddy will go to jail if she doesn't. LOL I think that she got this from my parents while they were trying to convince her to go to preschool.

Saturday, I was watching my cousin's 2 month old and I was overwhelmed with having 2 kids and to top it off the baby was very cranky. Bug told me she had to potty and I told her that she would have to go by herself that I couldn't put the baby down. She pouted for a minute and then ran back to the bathroom. A few minutes later she comes back and says "I peed, wiped, flushed, put on my panties, and turned the light off. Are you proud of me?" She has never done that by herself before. I though that I was going to cry. LOL

I wish that I could just freeze time for a little while.

Such a good feeling.

I love it when you have those days, that you just feel like you got so much accomplished. It seems like your bed feels just a little more comfy that night. I am having one of those days. Bug went to spend the night with her aunt and uncle tonight and I got in the yard and did some yard word. It felt so good! I used to cut the grass all the time before I had Bug.

We leave on Wednesday for vacation and I have this huge long list of things that I need to get done. I am glad to be able to check off the grass cutting and weed eating. Tomorrow I will work on packing and cleaning the car. Tuesday I will have to get the house spotless. I am on of those people that just can not leave a dirty house and go on vacation. I want to come home to a nice clean house.

Common Courtesy

Is it just me, or do people seem to be lacking common courtesy these days? My gripe for the days is on gift giving. I know that with the digital age thank you cards seem to be a thing of the past, but I would at least like a thank you. There are several ways that you can get in touch with me and all I am asking for is a simple five second "Hey, I got the gift, thank you."

I am tired of taking money away from my family to buy a gift for someone who doesn't appreciate it.

Wake Up Call

So, not a lot of people know that BigDaddy and I have been trying to get pregnant with number 2 since last June with no luck. We have been very discouraged but have said that it will happen when it is God's time for us.

Well today I think the big guy gave me a little reminder that he is still in control. Today I had my 3 year old and my cousin's 7 week old all day. Oh my!! I honestly do not think that I could handle two kids. I think that God also knows that.

He was so adorably cute and sweet, but it was a lot of work. Bug tested my patience to the max today. She was so super clingy and whiny today.

She has been asking daily for the last 3 or 4 months now for a baby "buddah" or baby sister and today she informed me that she did not want a baby anymore. LOL Maybe little miss priss realized that it wouldn't be all about her anymore.

She Makes My Heart Sing

Bug has a stuffed puppy that she made at Build A Bear a couple weeks ago that she has been carrying around everywhere. Today the place where they stitch it up came undone and the stuffing was coming out. So, I doing what any mom would do had to preform emergency surgery.

Bug was so happy that she looked at me and said "Happy Mother's Day"and gave me a huge hug. I was about it tears it was so sweet and so perfect. Moments like that are what makes it all worth while.

Day 2

Today was day 2 of my new lifestyle change. I am feeling great and very positive! I feel like I might actually be able to wear a pair of shorts this summer or maybe even a cute summer dress.
The diet pills are working ok. I'm not feeling jittery or anything and the are definitely curbing the cravings. I do have a bit of a headache but I think that this might just be caffeine withdrawals.

Now for some cute Bug news...She has started 1 day a week mom's day out on Mondays. So, Monday I pick her up from school and I am asking her all the standard questions. "Did you have a good day?" "Did you get in trouble?" etc when all of a sudden she looks at me and says "Momma, you are getting on my nerves." I couldn't help but to laugh because truth is she probably heard it from me.
